Dolly Parton, who is beloved not just for her legendary country music but for her compassion and generosity, has launched a pet clothing and accessories line that she says will help support an animal rescue organization.
The line, appropriately called Doggy Parton, features fringe-trimmed cowgirl dresses, rhinestone-bejeweled harnesses, gingham shirts and bandanas, concert T-shirts, toys and even a blond wig inspired by the singer.
"'Puppy Love' was my very first record, and six decades later, my love for pets is stronger than ever. This inspired me to start my own line of Doggy Parton apparel, accessories, toys and more with a little 'Dolly' flair," Parton said in a video statement on Twitter.
"Part of the proceeds will support Willa B. Farms, a rescue where animals in need find never-ending love. Don't we all need that?"
At the moment, the products are available only on Amazon. A message on DoggyParton.com says an online shop is in the works.

A Wyoming Highway Patrol trooper arrested Tuesday faces felony charges, but authorities say they are legally prevented from releasing more information at this point.
On Tuesday, the highway patrol disclosed that Gabriel Testerman was arrested. He has been with the agency since August 2005, WHP spokesperson Sgt. Jeremy Beck said.
Testerman faces "more than one" felony count, Cheyenne police Sgt. Kevin Malatesta said Wednesday.
Due to the nature of the charges, the department cannot confirm which crime or crimes Testerman has been accused of. Malatesta cited Wyoming Statute §6-2-319, which prohibits releasing the identities of those charged with sexual assault, sexual battery, soliciting or sexual abuse of minors.
"This is not special privilege because he's a trooper," Malatesta said. "This is just for all offenses of this nature."
Cap City News reported that Testerman appeared in court Wednesday in Cheyenne, where he was charged with three counts of sexual intrusion and given a $100,000 bond.
Cheyenne police could not confirm how many victims may be involved in Testerman's case. None of the potential charges are related to drugs or alcohol, according to Malatesta.
