Pinellas deputy accused of having inappropriate relations with women he met on calls

Pinellas deputy accused of having inappropriate relations with women he met on calls

A Pinellas County Sheriff’s Office deputy has resigned after he was accused of having inappropriate relationships with women he met on calls, according to an internal affairs report made public by the agency this week.

Deputy Frederick Post, 40, resigned in late December. He had worked for the sheriff’s office since 2013.

The internal affairs investigation began on Nov. 12 after a partner of one of the women contacted the sheriff’s office about the deputy’s conduct. Internal affairs investigators then spoke to three women who said Post had pursued relationships with them, including one that included a meet-up where Post and the woman had sex. Another woman said Post prompted a relationship where the two exchanged explicit photos, and a third woman said she believed he was trying to get her to send nudes, though they never exchanged explicit photos.

Connecticut Parents Arrested for Letting Kids, Ages 7 and 9, Walk to Dunkin' Donuts

"I have never felt threatened by a single person in this town until meeting those officers and the social worker."

It was Super Bowl Sunday in February 2019. Cynthia Rivers and her husband decided that their kids, ages seven and nine, deserved a long-promised treat for cleaning their rooms: the right to walk to Dunkin' Donuts by themselves. (Reason has changed her name to protect the family's anonymity.)

This was in Killingly, Connecticut, a suburban town in the northeast part of the state. The Rivers' lived near an elementary school, library, state police barracks, sidewalks, crosswalks, many Victorian-style homes, and the aforementioned donut shop. The kids gathered $7, and off they went.

A Barrie Police constable charged with assaulting a man who had ridden a skateboard in downtown Barrie during his arrest has pleaded guilty.

Barrie Police were made aware of an incident involving Constable Jason Stamp on February 4, 2021.

Then-Barrie Police Chief Kimberley Greenwood requested the assistance of the Ontario Provincial Police to conduct an independent investigation.

On April 29, 2021, the OPP laid charges, including assault and assault with a weapon against Stamp.

Stamp resigned from the Barrie Police Service on Friday and is no longer a serving officer.

Chicago cop falsely reported his car stolen 44 times to beat traffic tickets, prosecutors say

A Chicago police officer falsely reported that his personal car had been stolen 44 times since 2009 to avoid paying parking and automated traffic tickets, officials said Tuesday.

Jeffrey Kriv, 56, made more than $145,000 as a Chicago cop in 2021 and retired this month, according to public records. He faces felony charges for four of the 44 alleged filings.

The Chicago Office of Inspector General launched an investigation into Kriv after receiving a complaint in February 2022

They determined that Kriv contested 44 tickets since 2009 in administrative hearings, claiming each time that the citations were issued to his vehicle after his girlfriend stole it, prosecutor Thomas Fryska said.

Kriv allegedly made false statements during the hearings and submitted nearly identical false police reports to support his claim each time. All of the tickets were dismissed, Fryska said.

'Dances With Wolves' actor arrested in Nevada sex abuse case

Las Vegas police on Tuesday arrested and raided the home of a former “Dances With Wolves” actor turned alleged cult leader accused of sexually assaulting young Indigenous girls during a period spanning two decades, according to police records obtained by The Associated Press.

Nathan Lee Chasing His Horse, who goes by Nathan Chasing Horse, was taken into custody in the afternoon near the North Las Vegas home he is said to share with his five wives. SWAT officers were seen outside the two-story home in the evening as detectives searched the property.

Known for his role as the young Sioux tribe member Smiles a Lot in the Oscar-winning Kevin Costner film, Chasing Horse gained a reputation among tribes across the United States and in Canada as a so-called medicine man who performed healing ceremonies and spiritual gatherings and, police allege, used his position to abuse young Native American girls.
