Covid hits one of my younger cousins, and his wife...

Ugh.

They now live in a Rural Christian Community. Have two kids ?7 & 4. Love them a lot. He's funny, and she's very creative. Last time I saw them was '19 Christmas gathering.

He was rushed in an ambulance to the hospital a little while ago while his wife is home with the kids.

Hopefully he'll be given those monoclonal
(?) antibodies.

His mom is one of my favorite cousins. He's 40 something and has got two 2 younger siblings, both with partners both here in the NJ, NY area, as is my cousin and her partner in NJ.

My sis is feeding me the news by text.

I finally have internet service at home through my phone since the pandemic though I got on line through the library, and internet cafes back in late '95.

So I never got photo hosting etc

Has anyone seen a post, or heard from Lucky Charms today...

I happen to catch his post around 1:30AM EST. ..

He had a pretty bad fall - missed last 3 steps on the stairs. Nothing broken he said but started to really hurt. (no kidding)
Was going to go to sleep.

I'm concerned he might have had a concussion, or some else got bad later.

A question for those who have an Auto-immune disease & been Vaxxed

my longest (and dear) friend from college who has
hashimodo's disease (maybe something else) is terrified of getting vaxxed.
She's in general a liberal so she's not gone off that deep end on beliefs.

Some doctor who had some Auto-immune disease she followed dropped dead a few days, or less after getting the shot.

Luckily she' left NYC (while still keeping payment for her apartment there) when cv19 began to spread, sequestered up in the hills of NYS (her old boy friend's house), only sees a few people, and gets driven into town for supplies. She's somewhat gregarious, so this also takes a toll on her.
She masks, distances, does wholistic health stuff (as do I), and worked in a hospital for ?30 yrs.

At some point hopefully she'll return to NYC.

In the meantime I tried w no success to convince her - but this Delta variant...

Could some of you share your vaxxed experiences.

Maybe I'll try again to convince her using examples from you folks.
She's a beautiful soul as a person, and talented, too, as a poet and artist.

I'm mostly being rhetorical here.

And not all women want children either. Motherhood is not the end all and be all of all women.
I *honor* women who undertake the intense, and joyful journey (and dad's who are committed to being a good dad). I remember the first time I felt a baby move inside the to-be-mother. Like...woooah!
Anyway luckily my parents never pushed me in that direction.

I have to find the articles that pose
"women put up with milder forms of sexism so they
can avoid violent sexism".
(as I'm adding this radio show on violence against women - about the same in the US. Sigh)

Obviously there's too many who experience increased injuries, and death.
