Let this sink in

January 20, 2023

It's SHOWTIME

Look at what’s happening right now.
House Republicans are attacking Senate Republicans. Calling for Mitch's Removal.
Senate Republicans are (correctly) calling House Republicans silly and immature.
The leadership situation is in chaos. Why anyone would want the job of overseeing hundreds of nut jobs is unknown.

Marjorie Taylor Greene is fighting with Lauren Boebert. (MTG of all people... calling SOMEONE ELSE petty)
And George Santos appears to be starring in the sequel to Catch Me If You Can.
Meanwhile RNC head McDaniel is getting calls for her head because she snitched on Not-So-Super-Hero Trump.

Trump mistook rape accuser E. Jean Carroll for ex-wife Marla Maples in deposition about photo

CNBC
The image shows him from behind, facing Carroll and her then-husband, television journalist John Johnson, with Trump’s then-wife, the late Ivana Trump standing to his right.

“It’s Marla,” said Trump about the photo.

Carroll’s lawyer, Roberta Kaplan, said, “You’re saying Marla is in this photo?”

Trump replied: “That’s Marla, yeah. That’s my wife.”

Senators Kelly, Sinema tour El Paso border with bipartisan group

KGUN 9 news
A bipartisan group of senators from Arizona, Texas, and elsewhere are working together to tackle the crisis at the border.

They were in El Paso, Texas Monday at Bassett Middle School—which has actually been transformed into an emergency housing facility for migrants—to meet with local officials.

Arizona Senators Mark Kelly and Krysten Sinema were in attendance for the round table discussion.
"I've been able to visit Texas a number of times in recent years to see how broken the system is here, as it is in my home state of Arizona," Sinema said addressing a crowd at a news conference.
Senator Sinema has been on the forefront of tackling issues at the border, and told KGUN 9 about organizing the visit to the Southwest.

"I said I want to bring colleagues to the border especially those who don’t live near a border region so they can see first hand what's actually going on," Sinema said.
Working alongside Texas Senator John Cornyn, the roundtable was an opportunity to hear from officials who have been dealing with the migrant crisis first hand.

Legal expert: Fulton DA Fani Willis "gearing up to indict" Trump after grand jury probe concludes

Salon
The special grand jury in Atlanta that spent the last eight months investigating whether former President Donald Trump and his allies committed crimes while trying to overturn Georgia's 2020 presidential election has finished its work.

Fulton Superior Court Judge Robert McBurney wrote in a brief order on Monday that the grand jury was dissolved as it fulfilled its duties to his satisfaction, and that a majority of Superior Court judges who reviewed the grand jury's final report agreed.

Legal expert pours cold water on GOP's Biden document freakout

RawStory
In a column in the Daily Beast by attorney Shan Wu, GOP glee about President Joe Biden documents from his years as Vice President Barrack Obama discovered in a locked storage room at the Penn Biden Center is much ado about nothing.
On Monday it was revealed an attorney working for the president discovered the documents and immediately notified the National Archives so that they could retrieve them.

That, in turn, led Republicans to seize on the news as a way of trying to undercut the DOJ investigation of Donald Trump's boxes of documents kept at his Mar-a-Lago resort that he refused to return until the FBI obtained a search warrant to enter and seize them.
