The Covid-19 Burden.

The CDC released an interesting bit of info last week with no publicity. They do a quarterly estimate of the number of people they think have actually caught Covid since the beginning. They call it the Covid-19 Burden (nice turn of phrase). This time the estimate is about 147 million cases. So the official stat of 47 million may be off by a mere 100 milliion.

Politico Playbook is what everyone in Washington DC reads

In the morning. This is what they read today. Don't tell at me. I didn't write it:

I became a member at the JFK Library in Boston today.

Probably should have done it awhile ago. Sigh.

What is long Covid?

It's kind of hard to say since nobody has actually defined it yet. Here's an interesting article from NPR

https://www.npr.org/sections/goatsandsoda/2021/11/18/1055071699/coronavirus-faq-what-is-long-covid-and-what-is-my-risk-of-getting-it

The answer appears to be the same as everything else about Covid: Get Vaccinated!

Nice article in tomorrow's NYT

All about why BBB is likely to pass the Senate now in late December. It turns out Speaker Pelosi has been chatting with Joe Manchin and Krysten Sinema for months. An article about how things get done by people who get things done. We will miss Speaker Pelosi when she is gone.

Politico Playbook is mentioning that the Supreme Court will issue an opinion Monday.

Speculation is it will be the Texas abortion ban cases.
Tune in scotusblog at 10AM est to see if the speculation is right.

The Yale-Harvard Game or as my wife might say the Harvard-Yale Game.

I'm a Yale subway alumnus since the days of Chuck Mercein.

Interesting article from Reuters about the possible end of covid

Knowledgeable people are coming to some conclusions. They could be wrong. But I hope not.
