Apparently there was a Tucker Carlson film crew embedded with the defense team during the course of the trial. The chief defense lawyer didn't have a say about it.

I see Elizabeth Holmes took the witness stand for an hour today. To be continued next week. Should make for an interesting few days before the holiday. That one I would watch if it were televised.

To my mind all of the hit pieces on VP Harris this weekend might have been the opening salvos of the 2024 campaign. They were launched by somebody.
Joe Biden's my man. I thought he was the only Democrat who could defeat Mr. Orange. But 2022 doesn't look great. The hightwater mark of his first term.
Will he really be interested in a second term. Even if only BBB is the last major piece of legislation he will have accomplished a lot. He saved the economy, passed the first infrastructure bill in decades, signed all the programs in the BBB into law and I even bet Covid will be brought under control while he is President. It will be quite a record. He's no kid. So maybe he thinks he will have accomplished what he set out to do.
I acknowledge he might feel that he has to protect us from the ass clown and decide to run again, but the country and the party can make demands on him. He's been too good.
I guess we will find out.

There was a funny little story in Politico Playbook this morning. Dr
Faucci was at a book party at a D.C. restaurant last night. Apparently he kept putting on and taking off his mask at the party. People thought he was trying to avoid having his picture taken with the mask off. He said he'd take it off when he talked to someone he knew. Put it on when talking to someone he didn't know them. The thing of it is the D.C. indoor mask mandate doesn't expire until Monday. Nobody likes those masks.

I saw this proposed in Barron's some years ago. Why wouldn't the Treasury Dept. lock in low interest borrowing for a very long time? Is there a case for not doing this?

Being retired, tonight I had to ask my wife while we were on nightly dog patrol: Is today Wednesday? And she told me: No. It's Thursday.
All of which put me in mind of a phenomenon known as the Friday afternoon verdict. I can't believe it's unique to my jurisdiction. But more often than not, if a jury has been deliberating for several days when Friday afternoon rolls around you would hear a knock at the jury door and word would go out that a verdict had been reached.
Does it happen all the time? Of course not. But it happened more often than random chance would dictate.
Why does it happen? Actually your opinion would be better than mine. I've never served on a jury so I don't really know much about jury dynamics.
If the Rittenhouse jury goes into next week that tells me that there are a number of people on both sides who have very strongly held opinions about some issues.
PS There is also a Monday morning phenomenon. I guess people take the weekend to reflect and don't look forward to more long days of argument.
