An idea for a Fall political gun safety Ad

We need concise hard hitting attacks against the republicans. This ad is about gun safety. The most important thing is to use their words against them.

It is evening and a guy is driving home after a long distance business trip but we see his phone has died so he hasn’t been in contact with anyone and can’t call his wife to say he’s almost there.

He arrives at his home and calls out to his wife as he enters the house but she is in the basement doing laundry and can’t hear him.

Exhausted he flops on the couch and turns on the tv. He sees a reporter saying there has been a local mass school shooting this afternoon and now he panics. Is this why his wife is not here? He rushes to the kids bedroom and sees they are all there tucked in tight. The relief on his face is profound.

In the background you can hear the politician on the tv say that his highest priority is the children and he will do what he can to keep kids safe. The ad fades and a voice says something about how your life can change in an instant. Don’t let this happen to you - vote out the people who refuse to fix this.

Or the voice could say republicans think keeping you safe is just a liberal wish list. What do you think?

Same type of ad could be used for the grid going down as the guy returns home to his family huddling with mountains of blankets trying not to freeze.

Man, I’ve been letting this one fester!

The gun question they can't answer

I have been very frustrated with the questions asked of politicians by reporters that are quickly deflected. It’s BS but they fend off the questions easily.

Here is what I want at a press conference preferably asked by an older citizen and not by a reporter.

“ Regarding mass school shootings It has been said that the best defense for a bad guy with a gun is a good guy with a gun. My question is - how did law enforcement handle mass school shootings in the 50s, 60s, and 70s?”

I imagine the politician acts confused as he tries to figure out how to respond. You could leave it at that - let it hang in the air or twist the knife a little bit more.

The person could say “my grandkids do lock downs and shooter drills at school. I never had to do that. Now you want to arm teachers and put in steel doors. My grandkids will be living in a police state and you call that freedom?”

Let the networks show that!!
