WASHINGTON – Robert F. Kennedy Jr., an anti-vaccine activist and scion to a storied political family, will be challenging President Joe Biden for the White House, officially kicking off his 2024 presidential bid Wednesday morning in Boston.

Kennedy will be running as a Democrat and campaigning on a platform of fighting for the "liberties guaranteed by the Constitution," according to his campaign website.

"I've come here today to announce my candidacy for the Democratic nomination for president of the United States," Kennedy said during his announcement. "My mission over the next 18 months of this campaign and throughout my presidency will be to end the corrupt merger of state and corporate power that is threatening... to impose a new kind of corporate feudalism in our country."

His father must be turning over in his grave. I can't wait to see his plan for not alienating the orange vomit and his white supremacists supporters.

I see a million articles why food prices are so high. While I am sure some of this is legitimate I also think greed has taken over. Grocery stores don't seem to want to compete for my dollar anymore. Used to be you could go to a store and it always had the products you needed. Now it's like a farmers market. Some days it's there and some days it's not and it's not just products affected by Russa/Ukraine, etc. Prices have risen more than 100% in the last three years, with some items going up a dollar a week over the last month. Do they really need to charge these prices? Will the economy collapse if the shareholders of these companies share in some of the pain and not gouge us. I think they are just in a "we can just raise the price to increase profits" mode using inflation as a cover for some of it - at least it sure feels that way.

Don Lemon is giving his first one-on-one interview following his ousting from CNN, saying he doesn't believe in "platforming liars and bigots."

In a sit-down interview with ABC24, a local news affiliate, Lemon reflected on his "responsibility" as a journalist and reacted to criticism he received for pushing back against Republican presidential hopeful Vivek Ramaswamy in a combative on-air interview in April. "I have a responsibility not only as a journalist but as an American to tell the truth and abide by the promises of the constitution," he said. "Because the constitution says a more perfect union, not a perfect union. I'm not perfect. No one is, but I think in order to fulfill the promise of the constitution, we have to stand up for what is right. We have to stand up for the truth."

When asked about his controversial Ramaswamy interview, Lemon shared what he sees are the limits of who journalists should and should not platform. Don Lemon arrives for the Time 100 Gala, celebrating the 100 most influential people in the world, at Lincoln Center's Frederick P. Rose Hall in New York City on April 26.

"I don't believe in platforming liars and bigots and insurrectionists and election deniers and putting them on the same footing as people who are telling the truth, people who are fighting for what's right, people who are abiding by the constitution," he said. "That would be a dereliction of journalistic duty."

After former President Donald Trump was arraigned on Tuesday in Miami, Florida, for allegedly refusing to turn over classified documents, he went to a Cuban restaurant in Little Havana to greet a crowd happy to see him.

The crowd was probably happier when Trump told them, “Food for everyone.”

Although most people would consider yelling “food for everyone” as a tacit promise that the person yelling those three words is taking care of the bill, there is a difference between promising to pay for something and actually doing that.

And, yes, Trump is notorious for stiffing people, which is why he’s reportedly had problems finding lawyers to defend him in all his current legal woes.

So forgive the Miami New Times for being skeptical that Trump lived up to the promise and indeed treated his cult followers to what it described as “a spread of croquetas, pastelitos, and cubanos chased with cafecitos.”

The publication reached out to what it described as a “knowledgeable source,” who assured the publication that Trump’s stop at the Cuban restaurant was only about 10 minutes tops, so there was no time for anyone to order anything, much less get the bill to Trump.

The New York Times reported that Trump didn’t get any food at the restaurant, preferring to eat McDonald’s on his plane.

In Moscow, the possibility that former President Donald Trump might end up in prison or even seek asylum in Russia has long been a topic of discussion on the Kremlin-controlled state television. A federal indictment that was unsealed on Friday revealed that Trump is facing 37 felony counts, because of a trove of classified documents he retained, including America’s military plans and nuclear secrets.

Troubled by the magnitude of the criminal jeopardy their favored candidate is facing, the Kremlin’s mouthpieces on state media’s airwaves are openly brainstorming how to help Trump by undermining President Joe Biden—reflecting the efforts that are likely taking place behind the scenes. After all, Trump represents Moscow’s best hope that the U.S. will eventually stop supporting Ukraine, which would in turn allow Russia to swallow it whole.

When it was first revealed that Trump’s Mar-a-Lago estate was searched by the FBI and contained hundreds of classified documents, Russian state TV host Evgeny Popov mockingly noted: “Turns out that the investigation against Trump has to do with the disappearance of secret documents from the White House, related to the development of new nuclear weapons by the United States... Obviously, if there were any important documents, they’ve been studying them in Moscow for a while. What’s the point of searching?”

Now that the search has resulted in a multitude of charges, Popov and his fellow propagandists are not nearly as giddy but still hold out the hope that the Republicans and their mouthpieces—like Russia’s beloved Tucker Carlson—will manage to harm Biden and undermine U.S. aid to Ukraine.

Appearing on Vladimir Solovyov’s morning broadcast of Full Contact, "Americanologist" Dmitry Drobnitsky mockingly predicted that in light of the criminal charges that threaten the main contenders of the presidential race, the final battle might be between Robert F. Kennedy Jr. and Nikki Haley. He pointed out that RFK Jr. surprised everyone with higher-than-anticipated popularity ratings but noted that he is unlikely to prevail. Nonetheless, Drobnitsky said, Kennedy’s participation in the elections will enable him to inject his pro-Russian talking points about Ukraine into the mainstream—a beneficial side effect for Moscow.
