Across-the-Desk's JournalS7:E16 (The GOP & the Theocratic Autocracy)
This week on Across the Desk Kit talks about an amendment to Oklahoma Senate Bill 404 that would allow religious organizations to receive tax payer funding, no questions asked. And no way to enforce against wrongdoing when it comes to those funds. It is all in an effort to fund private religious schools in the state of Oklahoma. A change that is patently against the Oklahoma Constitution as it states plainly that religion should in no way be supported by tax payer money. And a change Governor Stitt will probably be sure to sign.

The Will Rogers Experiment (podcast)- E2
This week on the Will Rogers Experiment Sean Cummings and Kit Fairchild introduce a new monthly segment, "Who died at the OK County Jail this month", and it sounds just as absurd as it should be as we just has 3 people die in less than week due to poor management of the Oklahoma County Jail. We also talk about Oklahoma Education Superintendent Ryan Walters. Specifically about how he hasn't been to one budget meeting with the Legislature or even his own staff! As well as his inability to shift from campaign mode of management mode.

An Oklahoma woman with a cancerous pregnancy said she was told to wait in the parking lot until she
A woman in Oklahoma with a cancerous pregnancy said hospital workers asked her to wait in the parking lot until she started "crashing" before they could give her an abortion last month.
Jaci Statton had a partial molar pregnancy, a rare complication in which the placenta has irregular tissue, NPR reported. Molar pregnancies can cause a rare form of cancer and typically result in early miscarriages, according to the Mayo Clinic. They occur in about 1% of pregnancies, according to the Cleveland Clinic.
Statton and her husband have three young children, own a fishing guide company, and go fishing every day. The couple was looking forward to welcoming a new child into their family, NPR reported.
Statton told NPR that the hospital staff was "very sincere" and wasn't trying to be mean when they turned her away.

S7:E15 (The GOP; Losing Women Over Abortion Policy)
This week on Across the Desk, Kit talks about the culture war politics of extreme anti-abortion positions of Conservatives that even include limits, if not out right bans, on contraception and healthcare choices that have really turned off the largest voting bloc in the USA... Women... And how it is hurting (R)s at the ballot box as recently as April 4th.
