Can we do away with term "Climate Change" and call what it is?

George Carlin did a bit on "soft language" how we create terminology that makes things seem less severe.

Is this is how we got to "climate change" instead of "global warming"? (Disclosure: I may be wrong here, but I don't ca

"Climate Change"? So it's changing. Is it warmer or colder? I don't know. No big deal! NO BIG DEAL!!!!

"Global Warming"? Sometimes I like to be a nice comfy warm. I'm not crazy about being cold? Nobody wants to be really COLD!!!

"Global Heating"? Oh, like heating my food on a stove? Hmm, sometimes stoves are hot? I could get a burned if I touched a hot stove. My finger would hurt! Doesn't Sound That Great. REALLY Doesn't Sound That Great.

"Global Burning"? OH HELL NO!!!!! GET ME OUTTA HERE!!!

Judge blocks new Texas law that would erode cities' power to enact local rules

Source: Texas Tribune

A sweeping new Texas law aimed at undermining the ability of the state’s bluer urban areas to enact progressive policies is unconstitutional, a Travis County judge ruled Wednesday.

State District Judge Maya Guerra Gamble halted the law — House Bill 2127, which opponents nicknamed the “Death Star” bill — just days before it was slated to take effect on Friday.

The Republican-backed law aims to stop local governments from enacting a wide range of progressive-leaning policies by barring cities and counties from passing local ordinances that go further than what’s allowed under broad areas of state law.

I guess the Repubs don't believe in small government if it is below the State level!

This makes no sense to me 1.58 Billion lottery

Imagine you could have 1,580 million dollar winners instead of one winner. Even with taxes that a hell of a chunk of change.

I simply do not understand it!

Rod Serling.....wish he was still with us..

For me supernatural theme was there, but the way he wove morals and insight to human nature really made the show.

"But now, revisiting the series as an adult, I’ve come to appreciate the weight and depth of the Zone, especially its philosophical, ethical, and spiritual themes. Such ideas were evident right from the start, when it debuted on CBS on October 2, 1959.

Marc Scott Zicree, author of The Twilight Zone Companion, says the series included “least some search for an emotional truth, some attempt to make a statement on the human condition,” and that in every episode, “a moral code was being applied.” Star Trek creator Gene Roddenberry lauded Serling’s “deep affection for humanity… and his determination to enlarge our horizons by giving us a better understanding of ourselves.”

Known as one of Hollywood’s angry men, he fought censorship and racism in real life and against injustice and evil in his work, especially on The Twilight Zone."

"The main themes of his work were anti-war activism, racial equality and his female characters were always projected as strong and resilient. He was against social stigmas."

Someone sent me this....humor...

And Moses said,
"Thus says the Lord: You shall not oppress the stranger,
for you were strangers once yourselves in Egypt."
And the people grew angry, and said,
"O Lord! Why are You teaching us critical race theory?"
And Moses replied,
"Do any of you know what critical race theory is?"
And none of them knew.
