Lifelong Democrat. Cast my first "vote" for McGovern, in my 4th grade class, and McGovern won by a landslide! I was a flaming romantic liberal in 1980 at the tender age of 17, so naturally worked my heart out for Ted Kennedy for the Democratic presidential nomination--- single-handedly contacting 10 percent of my county's voters for that year's Democratic caucuses (in which only registered party MEMBERS could vote--- which only totaled about 3,000, of which I personally contacted over 300) Later in life I realized that a credible primary challenge against an incumbent president practically guarantees that the opposing party will win the general election, thus opposed any credible challengers against President Biden. In 1984, I supported Gary Hart with my feet and hands. For 1988, I supported Gary Hart, then Joe Biden, then Al Gore--- although if I had any clue that Jesse Jackson would win the Michigan caucuses that year, I would have voted for him as well as the majority of my state's voting Democrats did...
