7. My reasons for being a Democrat all stem from my

core principles and wishes for my nation, never one goal or leader. I joined to maximize my voice but only became proud of belonging to our predominantly liberal party decades later as I understood our history far better. Liberalism, working under the Democratic Party label for the past century, has always been integral, the dominating spirit, crucial to the development and protection of everything good about our governance.

Sadly, the loudest, angriest noises in any era are from those who lack the conviction and commitment to principles necessary in a world where advances are always long and hard in achieving, and always imperfect. Their constant frustrated noise is the sound of their imagined failures, while stronger and less foolish people continue to press on for progress.
