This is no different from Republicans warning that Obama would cancel elections. Some Democrats said similar things during the Bush years.

The GOP has no need to try something so drastic and probably destructive to them. It's much easier to pervert the process, using voter suppression and fraud to distort the results in their favor. They'll just keep doing that.
