The fundraising in the UK and Israel has been directed at rich American expats, not from Brits and Israelis who cannot donate to American campaigns (if they could, I'd have donated whatever I could to Obama!)

As regards the bribe, certainly: American campaigning, and increasingly British campaigning too, seems to be heavily dependent on what is essentially just legalized bribery.
