One of two things is true in regard to Joy Reid [View all]
One, she has been framed by hackers. Two, she posted homophobic garbage as recently as 12 years ago and lied about it as recently as this week. If one is true, then clearly Joy Reid has nothing to apologize for. If two is true, forget about the words she wrote, the fact she is out and out lying is a huge problem. A journalist lives on his or her credibility and she would have none. I hope her story is accurate, and it might be, but honestly it is a bit hard to swallow. On her side is the apparent lack of comments on these newly found posts which does strike one as bizarre. Against her is that not one but two different archives with no apparent axes to grind stated publicly that the old posts were saved back in 2006. Also against her is the fact that she isn't saying exactly which posts have been hacked and which haven't. I am no tech expert.
If she hasn't been hacked and is out and out lying that is a major problem. The posts are also a major problem. Let's be real this isn't opposing marriage equality. This is out and out hatred of gays that was posted. Would we accept this kind of bigotry about any other group? I hope Joy is telling the truth. If she isn't, she needs to be gone, yesterday.
