7. It's not really race. It's skin tone.

Humans have a wide range of skin tones, from the pallor of people of Scandinavian descent on the first sunny day of Spring to the deepest purplish black. We are all humans. The shade of our skin, due to varying degrees of melanin, is one distinguishing feature we all have. It's part of our description, and nothing more.

Except for some very small, self-sheltered communities, we see pretty much all of those skin tones on a daily basis. That we see different skin tones as anything other than a single descriptive feature is the problem. That those who are in the majority in the United States think there is some reason for pride in being pink is very strange, really.

We're all humans. We can interbreed freely, regardless of our skin tones. We're all the same species. We're all the same. We just don't treat each other as if we were. It's astonishingly stupid of us.

Why do we need terms for each of us. My wife the other day had an idea that race was an invention wasupaloopa May 2018 #1
