Aside From The Sexual Assault, What About His Drinking Habits? [View all]
I realize that everybody drinks when they're young. But the things he was doing in High School sound more like things that someone would do in College. And even then, it sounds like drinking was more or less a hobby to him. He is coming across like a Drunk Frat Boy, not exactly someone who would one day go on to be a Supreme Court Justice.
Lots of people go crazy in college, but mature later in life, but it is the exception rather than the norm I would think. I don't see how someone can live that kind of lifestyle, and then become some wholesome family values dude down the road.
It's not a pretty picture, and I'm wondering why his high school and college extra curricular activities were never discussed, unless I missed that. Is it because it happened a long time ago, and everyone is fine with the idea that he is not that person anymore? Therefore they get a pass for being part of a group whose goal was to consume a certain # of kegs during the school year?
If there are any further women who come forward this week, then I think he'll withdraw without need for any hearings next week. If, and of course it's a big if, this was the only incident in his past that he has to worry about, he's probably determined to fight it out. But even then, there's the possibility he knows he's in trouble, and will fall on his sword so Drumpf can nominate someone else right away.
