14. Everyone shares this frustration, but setting the bar

there is just another way of insisting we're all failing as human beings. After all, it's not going to happen, Cyrano. And yet so much is really being done. These children's futures are a small part of the problem, though. Remember, if every newspaper and TV show featured those few hundred children in their headlines every day, the many, many thousands of others in trouble would still be in trouble.

Those people are being detained in facilities of various sizes and types all over the country. Some are legal residents being deported on new, manufactured excuses. And all over the country organizations are working to help them, most of them with the assistance of local volunteers. Thousands and thousands of people who haven't forgotten at all.

But unless we want the numbers of victims to grow into the hundreds of thousands as they work on deporting the millions being planned now, we'd damned well better stop this starting November 6 by giving Trump and his nazi types a real congress as their check.
