Political calls (and likely texts) are exempt from the do not call registry.

BUT lists of voters, sorted by party, are public records. Anyone can get those, and match them up presumably the same way Move-On does to use for political purposes. I'm pretty sure we got robo calls from POTUS in the last election urging us to vote for Hillary.

Same thing.

(I don't like it - I'd like my phone to be truly exempt - but it is not new or nefarious for teh president to allow his name to be used to promote candidates he likes.)
