I can't agree with that. Two rock solid prior examples:
Nixon, Watergate for example
Reagan, Iran Contra for example
"he wasn't strong enough politically to stand up for what he truly believed"
I have mixed feelings on that.
I have mixed feelings about his presidency and his service.
