(658 posts)Without starting WWII on this forum, I'd argue that this is the MO of the more progressive crowd. They are pertinaciously determined to protect their causes and those who they believe will enact change. I feel as though Bernie Sanders has been defended way too aggressively on more than one occasion as well.
AOC holds promise but only if she learns the job and doesn't immediately keep pushing radical change out the gate, change she can't yet legislate. I don't view that as criticism of her, just a realistic take.
CEOs have been "resigned" within a year of being hired for trying to pull companies too far in a new direction too fast or without respecting institutional norms and knowledge. So, no one should be shocked that there is already a chorus of voices (some odious, some innocuous) calling on her to learn the ropes. Totally expected.
