1. Republicans call everything they don't like 'socialism'

Repeat that the way they've repeated "liberal media bias" for decades.

Don't dance around it, don't squabble over definitions, don't expect them to do better out of decency.

Punch straight at the talking point. Repeat it so often that whenever a Republican says it the mental image they evoke is a horse lifting its tail and the horsedump dropping out.
