3. My favorite quote!

Chief was tall and broad, standing nearly six feet tall; Hudson's Bay Company (one of the original corporate raiders of this continent) traders gave him the nickname Le Gros (The Big Guy). He was also known as an orator; and when he addressed an audience, his voice is said to have carried from his camp to the Stevens Hotel in town.

I taught Indian Lit in sophomore classes around 20 years ago, and used lots of quotes from our indigenous leaders.

I recommend a book by Hyemeyohsts Storm called Seven Arrows, a collection of great speeches, stories, cultural symbolism and poetry.
