What I just looked up on google accords with my memory of that bio I read as a child.

It caused her to have epileptic seizures and debilitating headaches, as well as other problems that grew worse as she aged. One of the anecdotes from the book I read was that she fell ill while conducting a group of escaping slaves, and they just gathered round her until she was able to go on.

Unbelievable courage and endurance!
