But the confidentiality and ethics agreement that he committed to work under still apply.

Think about your doctor. You went to him, had him treat things in confidence. You're protected by HIPPA.

Now, after 5 years of his being your doctor, you change doctors.

Do you really think that having dispensed with the first doctor he's no longer bound by confidentiality requirements?
