There is absolutely no upside to advocating for very popular ideas like firearm regulation, expanded access to health care, full rights for women, persons of color, and LGBT persons, and a living wage. We might alienate some guy at Cracker Barrel who wouldn't vote for a Democrat if the Republicans were running Satan himself, and everyone knows how vital that vote is!
Boo for progress! Down with government that works for more people! Up with oligarchs!
