I have purchased CDs and DVDs from Amazon, on the Amazon website. Except that I bought them from Amazon.de (Germany) and Amazon.uk (Britain) and the purchase went through successfully.

The charge went on my regular credit card, and they shipped the items to me, so there was no misunderstanding about the fact that I live in the USA. Still I was able to purchase movies and music that were meant to be sold in Germany or Great Britain. Yes it costs a little more for the shipping (they didn't honor my Prime membership) but the shipping wasn't too awful much.

I've just looked into the Great Britain Amazon site and they do offer the Stephen Fry version of the Harry Potter books to be shipped to the USA. (Not available in Amazon Canada however.) Just go to the regular Amazon website and down at the bottom of the page, change the United States to United Kingdom. Then you're automatically transported to the Amazon.uk website. Before you buy, ask them to convert the price to US dollars.
