(7,811 posts)56. pretty sure nominee won't be trump. he is self destructing. he is probably
holding public gop congressional support together with threats and blackmail to take down the party and its leadership...and that wears thin with each embarrassment and outrage.
I've always thought that one reason for gop silence must be that they have a plan to get through... they must have a Trump backup plan B and C that allows them to reasonably fight for the WH and senate while somehow rehabbing the gop (because dems will let them recover instead of kicking them while down). Can't know exactly what that is but we might find out soon. Does the gop really want to hear the LONG list of Trump/GOP misconduct over the next 13 months? Do they really want to say over and over that potus can't be investigated?
