8. My late father -in-law spoke in a very loud voice.

He was a short man who had been in the army, not sure if that was the cause or not. I called him on it very early in our relationship. I told him that I was raised in a family that spoke in calm normal tones except when there was danger or some other kind of emergency. I said if he was going to holler (I am from the south) every time he spoke, I would just walk away.

He stopped it cold in my presence. No one has ever called him on it from the family.

He really seemed to like me.
