I vote in every statehouse election though the district is dark red (middle class, so incomprehensible, they are temporarily embarrassed millionaires, I suppose). It lets them know what percentage don't agree. In 2018 they ran a Democrat, for once, and she got 47% of the vote, so that showed them it may be getting competitive. They won't know that if they win by a landslide when no one votes.
When they had not run a Dem, 17% at least voted for a Green candidate who ventured in.
When there was only the Republican on the ballot, I did a write-in.
