he was drafted and sent to the 101st Airborne as a replacement for men killed or wounded at Hamburger Hill. He was in a unit overrun in 1970. After a night engagement in late June only he and another troop were only lightly enough wounded to be counted as effective-his major wounds caused by an officer being hit by a satchel charge...that both blew the guy apart and drove parts of his bones into my brother-got that-an explosive turned parts of a guys SKELETON into shrapnel. A Sergeant with them was so badly wounded my brother remarked that "Yes, you can actually have your ass shot off. His name was Grady and he died two days later.
Since his unit was so badly depleted they were op-conned to a different unit. There was a friendly fire incident that killed a young guy from Florida...His name was Sandy Porter and his name is on the wall. I cannot tell the entire tale-it simply ain't mine to tell. I can only say Fuck his Vietnam of compliant nubile females-I would give all I own could I just send my brother to that venue. Because Trump is a fucking coward.
