Percocet (oxycodone + APAP) is pretty commonly used for chronic pain ... if you graduate to the ones in the subject line that generally means something is really wrong.
Oxycodone can be indicated in late stages of cancer as well, sometimes as breakthrough with other, stronger and/or time-released meds, or sometimes alone because that's all the person can tolerate as oxycodone is one of the best in that regard.
Being given Morphine can often be a sign of something pretty serious too but not always ...
