(10,749 posts)What's most troubling about this development is not the revelation itself. It's the fact that this information has been known by the Obama Administration from its inauguration and they did nothing to take any action against the Bush administration. Sure, we - the public - knew about the August 6 memo. They - the administration and the intelligence community - knew that the Bush administration had fare more advance knowledge, even if they didn't have the date or, for that matter, the specifics. If they had taken the preponderance of intelligence seriously, they would have been looking for the various dots to connect. They failed to do so and thus were not looking for the intelligence that might have revealed the 9/11 plot.
It is this greater failure - not the failure to take action after the single August 6 report - that warrants action against the Bush administration and their neocon advisers.
