In reply to the discussion: If vaccine for the virus is developed in the next two or three months, will you take it? [View all]Chainfire
(17,530 posts)11. My wife and I have discussed this
and no, we don't trust this government to do the right thing. I will look forward to getting the vaccine after it has been used for nine months or so with positive results, and few side effects.
What our present government is willing to do is do the final testing of the vaccine with the general population as the test subjects while they sit back with fingers crossed. It is the same kind of thing Boeing did with their 737 wide body.
What my fear is is that one side effect from an untested vaccine may be growing a new head in your colon, and I could not stand being converted to a Republican.

OP
I will but these kinds of forums are challenging for users to delineate the validity of comments.

Sort of like the protestors that were encouraged to get out there and win one for the Gipper...?

I doubt it. Sure, there might be a few, but most scientists are pretty focused on their work.

If my state's governor Newsom or our health department recommends it, yes.

I will try to get the best information I can before deciding whether to take it or not.

With proper research, yes. I'm an RN caring for vets. If I believe it reduces my chance of giving it
