I sympathize with the sentiment of the post overall, but this guy clearly doesn't understand what bill gates and microsoft did.

He was an innovator, not an inventor.
His business was software, not computers.
And pretty much everything of consequence microsoft is known for was created by other people at other companies. What bill gates did was leverage an operating system monopoly to make it impossible for other software companies to compete, so all the features and key applications wound up getting folded into Microsoft products while the people who created them were either put out of business or bought out at a fraction of their value.

He didn't invent the microcomputer, dos, windows-oriented operating systems, word editors, spreadsheets, email, project management software, pc databases, none of the things Microsoft is known for were invented at Microsoft.
