I will likely use one for that purpose from now on.
Additionally, I already have a small stash of disposable masks for those occasions when I dust the house, because house dust always sets me off. The masks were picked up for free at various clinics where I had appointments: "Please use mask if you have a cough or cold."
I'm sorry to hear this doesn't work for everyone.
