I've lost considerable distance over the last 15 years. 265 to 220.
The course I play has a rating of 69.2. My average score is 75.3. So, 6.1 above the rating.
I played 12 holes today. 9 pars, 3 bogeys.
Doing the handicap according to the actual formula, my average (10 best of last 20 scores) would have me at 5.8*0.96, or about 5.6.
But I don't post my scores with CDGA so I don't have an "official handicap".
In 1998, when I was playing competitively, I was a plus 2. But, that put me in championship flights, so I never won any events. A couple top 5s was my peak.
I don't hit far anymore, but I hit it straight & have a good short game.
