2. This arrest was so poorly conceived and conducted, the mind boggles.

At a time when unidentified federal jackboots have been plucking people off the streets in Portland, or at any time really, choosing to arrest a woman at a protest by having a gaggle of male cops in plainclothes swarm her and pack her into an unmarked minivan is not the way.

Until the bike cops showed up, it really wasn't clear that it was police making an arrest, and until later reporting filled in some of the details, there was no way to know she had an outstanding warrant.

Bad form. Really, really bad.




If they did something wrong, then law enforcement needs to show up clearly identified as leo's, in identified vehicles, with an arrest warrant, present it, & take into custody. If the average citizen cannot differentiate between an "arrest" & a cartel kidnapping, it's a problem.
