2. Were I still doing organic synthesis, I would definitely check it out.

The environmental advantages of this device are very clear; and it probably will save the lives of some vacuum pumps, or at least reduce oil usage, when one is working late, and is too tired to pay attention to dry ice or liquid nitrogen in the trap.
