Joe made it clear that he wanted three things out of his VP candidate: 1) woman, for better or for worse, 2) someone ready to step into the Presidency immediately, and 3) someone he could work well with (someone who shared his values and someone who would work with him and not against him).

#3 was always the big question with Kamala. She hammered Joe hard in the primary debates. She’s not exactly known as an “easy person” to work with. Despite all of that, Joe chose her, and here we are.

Although not my first choice (Karen Bass was), Kamala is an excellent choice who will energize a significant number of voters. Joe, no matter what he might feel about Kamala, personally, put that aside for the benefit of the nation. Good for him, and good for us all.
