Looking out my living room window in St. Paul, MN [View all]

yesterday, I noticed a guy in a yellow reflective vest knocking on doors across the street. It's the time of year for roof repair, siding repair, window replacement and other such companies to get their last chance to sell some stuff to homeowners before the cold weather begins. There are people on my block about every other day trying to sell people things.

One thing stood out yesterday. The door-to-door salesperson wasn't wearing a mask. People were answering their door, only to be confronted by some fast-talking stranger who had no mask.

So, I waited. About half an hour later, my doorbell rang. As is typical, the salesperson ignored the "No Soliciting" sign on the mailbox just to the left of the doorbell. I have been told many, many times, "I'm not soliciting" by people trying to sell me something. So, I opened the door and stood well back. Before the guy even opened his mouth, I said, "Why are you not wearing a mask?"

"I don't have Covid," he said.

I said, "No mask, no conversation with me. Please leave my property."

What are people thinking? Ridiculous!
