When the expression "defund police" was first used, it was intended to mean, take responsibility from police departments matters that should not be their responsibility, eg mental health issues etc. I knew that the GOP would jump on that expression and use it against the Dems.

Sadly all that can be done from now on is fight fire with fire. There are many things Trump's party have said that was not intentional and its up to the Dems to repeat it verbatim.
