(6,513 posts)But, stop feeling bad about it. You feel bad because your Dad died at peace? You WERE THERE. He knew it. Sometimes, giving people permission to leave is just as important as trying to hold on. Maybe he didn't want you to see him go.
It's just that death is hard to deal with, you don't always react in the way you think you will or can, and that's just what happens. You can still talk to him. Listen for his answers. Watch for those things that remind you of him.
You will miss him every day from that moment until you yourself step out. It's natural, nothing to worry about. There will come a time when this regret you are feeling will lessen. You'll know when that happens. And then, your memories will sweeten up, and things will be okay.
