The more I look at him, the more I see plastic surgery.

Having covered Hollywood for most of my career, I’ve seen lots of celebs whose faces have almost literally stopped moving. Their smiles become more rigid (to avoid laugh lines). I remember even as a kid, reading a profile of Gina Lollobrigida and noting the passage “she barely (or hardly) smiles” in an effort to avoid wrinkles.

Later on, we’d go cover the annual American Film Institute tributes to some distinguished Hollywood elder, and the arrivals provoked an ongoing under-the-breath count of facelifts, boob jobs, neck jobs, eyelifts, brow lifts, hair transplants, Botox everywhere, and collagen lips, injected fillers in the cheeks, under the lower eyelids, and more.

Your looks are your livelihood with these actors. It’s like getting on a merry-go-round that starts rotating faster and faster.

Best to be able to age like nature intended. You really can’t fight it or hold it off. It will beat you.
