(8,445 posts)As for me, I've got nerves of steel when it comes to things like this. As you put it, I will hold my head up high. I have every intention of continuing to shop there, if only to show that I can't be intimidated. Maybe my daughter can summon up her inner strength and do the same. She's got some issues because of her ongoing health problems, and she was also a victim of domestic violence for over a decade before she finally got out. She's got a lot of anxiety as a result.
I was just really struggling with how big of a deal to make of this. On a personal level, I don't feel like I have to be part of the issue at some point. I guess what I'm trying to say is that my daughter and I don't need accolades for trying to "change the world". It's the end result that matters. Mask mandate compliance works and can save lives.
