(1,910 posts)With a MS in Microbiology and an avid follower of pharma companies, I would not automatically think that because Trump got the Regeneron cocktail he has a big advantage. The company has a track record of cherry picking data going back to their previous treatments and little of it so far with the Covid cocktail has been reviewed independently. The Regeneron CEO and his son are Trump supporters and members of one of his golf clubs. Trump's financial disclosure showed large capital gains from Regeneron stock in 2017.
The Regeneron cocktail monoclonal science will likely be a blueprint for great future treatments, but likely is not a miracle in its current form. My hunch is it may just delay the inevitable second wave of virus symptoms that will hit Trump within the next week. The virus replicates and targets various organs over time. The cocktail may just postpone what is coming for Trump. As we learned in virology, viruses are quite resilient and bide their time.
