...but instead of shutting down the debate the Commission said Joe could do it all by himself. Trump's people are trying to finagle away to avoid that by proposing a delayed in-person debate.

They should stick to the schedule and to the virtual plan. This is just a pathetic attempt at face-saving after Trump's road-rage tweet. It's not like they can feign concern about transmission when Trump declared he'd hold a rally rather than attend the virtual debate.

He hates the idea of a virtual debate like poison because his mike can be switched off and he can't just yell across the stage to interrupt and disrupt.
