I think it's a great idea. The country is so divided now, just bringing someone to court will not change minds, they (whoever 'they' are) will just claim partisanship.

Even our side is guilty, as Biden has suggested bringing some moderate republicans into his cabinet, some are howling.

This might be a way to change some minds, though, by far, not all.
