Not sure why they think Dems are scared of them. They can't go into any city as guns are everywhere. Like the OP said, farmers all have guns despite their politics. We are in the suburbs but have guns, my kid learned to shoot at age 12. Most of the military rank and file are minorities.

So they can't do anything in a city, can't do anything in the middle of farm land, can't do much in most suburbs. And the military is not on their side.

Not really sure where these right wingers think their guns will give them any advantage. Like anything, just a worthless security blanket to make them feel better.
