3. Does that work for bringing someone over from another country?

Like if you study abroad in another country, fall in love, and want to bring your partner back to the US with you and have them be able to get a green card, like hetero couples can do? Or is it just to keep someone from being deported. It's nice to pick away at a right here and there, but there are tons of rights and the only way to really solve the whole problem is to make same-sex marriage legal.
